Outdoor Activity Breaks around the River Wye, Symonds Yat & Forest of Dean
We provide activities for individuals, couples, families, groups, schools and businesses. We can provide tipis for accommodation at our recommended camping sites, these vary for youth/adult groups and requirements, different options available. For a multi- activity outdoor pursuits break please contact us and we can arrange a customized package for your needs. Special rates for schools etc and large/long group bookings. Make up your own group (max. of ten) per qualified Instructor and try problem solving, bridge building, team challenge events, raft-building, rock-climbing, abseiling or caving high above the river. We are an AALS licensed centre for under eighteens in the above activities.
We can also offer to educational groups...The ASDAN Adventure and Residential Short Course, this gives candidates the opportunity to accredit their out-of-centre activities. For age groups 13-19, Credits from the Short Course can count as up to half the curriculum requirements of the Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE), which has GCSE equivalence at Levels 1 and 2, and is worth an AS Level at Level 3. It also provides the curriculum for the Award of Personal Effectiveness (AoPE) which carries league table points equivalent to half a GCSE.
Canoeing & Kayaking sessions and trips
If you fancy learning the art of canoeing or kayaking properly, the River Wye is a great place, it has gentle waters and some easy rapids to practice basic white water skills, you can learn to paddle your canoe better than a North American Indian or beat the Eskimos at kayaking, with a session on the Wye river learning skills and having fun, individually or as a group. River trips a speciality.

Rock Climbing or Abseiling
Take on a half-day session on the cliffs of Symonds Yat Rock with fantastic Forest Surroundings and lovely rock formation. Climbing provides great team-spirit and makes people challenge themselves in a safe adventure environment, push your adventure zone! We can also offer first climbs on rock and coaching on technique for climbers who've experienced indoor climbing, more advanced sessions can also be organised, please enquire.

Caving
Come and explore the underground world with us, a half-day is ideal, trips start with a short forest walk to the entrance to the underworld, walk, crawl, squeeze and wiggle through the planets unknown and wonderful rock formations and alternative scenery.

Raft-building
Raft-building is a great fun activity, requiring planning, team-work, clear communication and co-ordination, our instructors will advise on your potential designs and teach you all the knots necessary to successfully build your craft to keep you dry on your river descent/crossing.

Problem Solving/Team Initiative exercises
Set problems aim to develop team working skills, co-ordination, communication, leadership, thinking outside the box. This is fun and practical. Success depends on a team working together which is promoted by expert instructors guiding and advising the teams.

Canoe Bivi Expeditions
Canoe bivi trips are available, canoe to a wild site, with all your camping and cooking equipment, cook on the fire, breakfast and dinner and sleep under a tarp under the stars.
